Nutrition Services at West Branch Regional Medical Center

Learn how to achieve a healthy & active lifestyle.

We understand that some individuals with health conditions have a much harder time eating healthy and staying active, but fortunately West Branch Regional Medical Center offers nutritional education services to help you learn the basics.

Diabetes is a debilitating condition that affects over 25 million people nationally, and is a major cause of heart disease and stroke among affected patients. The first step in keeping your diabetes in check is to be properly educated about your condition and what options you have. With appropriate knowledge and training, a diabetic patient can successfully self-manage the disease and improve their quality of life.Individuals with diabetes are in need of strict dietary limitations and frequent exercise to keep blood flowing properly. With this in mind, we offer a very comprehensive diabetes educational program that is not only state certified but also recognized by the American Association of Diabetes Educators.

Our diabetes nutrition education services outline all of the major aspects of maintaining a healthy lifestyle with diabetes, including:

  • Healthy eating
  • Being active
  • Monitoring
  • Taking medication
  • Problem solving
  • Healthy coping
  • Reducing risks

West Branch Regional Medical Center also offers Medical Nutrition Therapy courses which include, but are not limited to, consultations in Weight Loss and Cholesterol Lowering Diets.

Nutritional Services are typically covered by Medicare and Medicaid, as well as some private insurance companies. Please call with any questions at (989) 342-3292.
