The John Tolfree Health System
An all encompassing community support system.
In keeping with the legacy set down by John Tolfree in 1929, the John Tolfree Health System maintains ideals for high quality healthcare, community involvement and excellent customer service.
The John Tolfree Health System encompasses the West Branch Regional Medical Center, Hospice of Helping Hands and the Tolfree Foundation. Each wing of the Health System helps to support the others, and together they have built a solid foundation for future growth.
The West Branch Medical Center supports the general medicine and acute care needs of the community, while Hospice of Helping Hands helps ease the transition for impaired or ailing members of the community and their family. Through their winter camp, Camp Warm Hearts, the Hospice ensures that children who are dealing with the loss of a loved one are taught that they are never alone in the struggle. Bringing it all together is the Tolfree Foundation, a fundraising and support arm of the West Branch community. Through a wide variety of charitable and fundraising efforts, the Tolfree Foundation ensures that WBRMC and Hospice of Helping Hands receive the funds necessary to continue providing the quality healthcare services that the community deserves.
West Branch Regional Medical Center (WBRMC) has re-branded itself to illustrate its joint participation with other entities in the John Tolfree Health System. The Medical Center along with Hospice of Helping Hands, Tolfree Foundation and the Medical Arts Centers in Prudenville and West Branch have all been part of the John Tolfree Health System, but until now never promoted their shared relationship.
“Many residents didn’t know that Hospice of Helping Hands and the Medical Arts Centers are connected business-wise to the Medical Center. By promoting the new logo and the umbrella John Tolfree Health System name, people will better understand the scope of the health care we provide.” - Ed Napierala, CEO, WBRMC.
The Medical Center began the rebranding process last year by researching the opinions of employees, former patients, physicians, insurance providers and board members of all the Health System Entities.
The outcome is that each of the entities in the Health System is revising its logo to feature a cohesive look that connects all the parts of the system. Three words were also chosen to represent the health system’s promise to area residents:
Compassion.
Excellence.
Community.
“These three words highlight what area residents will find at the Medical Center,” said Napierala. ‘Compassion’ is the word used most often to describe our entire staff and physicians. ‘Excellence’ refers to the major investments in equipment and people we continue to make to bring state-of-the-art diagnostics and treatment here. And ‘community’ acknowledges we can’t do this ourselves. First impressions are important and the commitment to the updated branding includes a refreshed Medical Center website. When visitors come to the new website, they will be able to access the information they need immediately. Whether you are a patient, a health care provider, vacationer or just want to learn more - there’s a button for you right on the home page. With a stronger, more visible presence, the Health System hopes to help even more patients get the compassion and expertise they need to reach their very best outcomes.
